Which is Better for our overall health?
Having a pet in your life helps your health everyday, but which pet is better for your overall health?
Starting with cats who have been domesticated roughly for 10,000 years. With Ancient Egyptians, Scandianvians, Peruvians, Chineses families (I don't need to know a thousand reasons on why that might be true.), Ancient Poland, Greeks and Celtic people all worshipping cats in some way shape or form. But how useful are they to us with our health. Between a cat and a dog cats are said to have better vision than a dog which according to research done by other people. With that being the only thing that tops dogs lets see how they help our overall health.
Cats are said to help us cope when someone in our life dies. Cats have been shown to help people get over their physical symptoms of pain. They have also been shown to help people not only in social support as well as emotional and psychological health of their owners.
Not only can they help you cope with the loss of someone close to you, they are able to tell you a lot about your personality and others too. While dog owners are apparently the life of the party while cat owners are more introverted and have less to say.
Cats purr for many reasons from anywhere to being really happy and content with the overall environment. Which can be really good especially in younger cats or even kittens. Cats also purr when they are in stress such as having to go somewhere they aren't familiar with as well as recovering from an injury.
Now dogs are said to make us feel a variety of things and help us do a variety of things too. First and foremost they can make us laugh. Understanding if you can watch cat videos all day but you can watch the same dog video all day without changing it. They do overall help us with our health because a lot of dogs require a lot of walking depending on the breed of the dog of course. They also help alert their owner if something bad is going to happen (like a service dog, drug sniffer and bomb sniffer). That a variety of people use them in their everyday life. They are also able to improve relationships in families and in couples.
It seems like dogs are the better animal to own but both help with allergies in children and both help you cope. Everyone has their own opinion but in mine I believe dogs are the better animal to own as a pet. What is yours?
